Until now, I really wasn't sure how much of me and how much of Erin was in our little hybrid. But the following events have convinced me that Paige has a lot of me in her. At the beginning of the appointment we had to weigh Paige with her diaper off. It all happened too quickly, so I don't have photographic evidence of the events. You'll just have to trust me. The nurse put Paige on the scale on her back, but Paige, like usual, was too squirmy. The next choice was to put her on her stomach.
Just so you can get a good visual, Paige was on the scale in a very similar pose as below. But she had her diaper off.
Erin and I were embarassed, but deep down I was proud of Paige. That's my little girl!
This is a picture of Paige in her swing. I think she's finally growing comfortable with it (but not too comfortable, if you know what I mean!). It looks like she's asking someone to either speak up or repeat the question.
Here's a picture of Mimi. This is a good one because it shows Paige with her favorite expression: one eye open.
This is just a random picture. I call it the Purple People Eater.

So now I've got some advice for all the new or expecting parents out there. First, learn to swaddle. The tighter the better. Don't worry, they'll teach you that in the hospital. But the second piece of advice is to get a set of speed bumps like you see below. I don't know where Erin got them, but they're magic. It's probably my imagination, but I think Paige sleeps better because she can't roll.

Here's another random picture, but Erin loves it so I thought I'd put it on the blog. If you read Paige's shirt, I think you can understand why Erin loves it so much.

And finally, thanks to all Erin's friends for all the messages you've sent. They've really helped so keep them coming. She feels bad that she hasn't been able to respond to all of them. But I think I give her a pass, she's a little busy at the moment.
I especially appreciate all the encouraging words when you say to hang in there, the first couple weeks (or depending on who you talk to 1-3 months) are the toughest. Although it would've been nice if you had warned us (more importantly me) of these revelations BEFORE we were in the middle of sleepless nights. Any more gems you'd like to share?

Another great Berg read! Happy 1-week Paige. I guess you've realized by now how amazing your Mommy & Daddy are!?!
2 reasons we didn't warn you:
1. It's like child-birth; you forget how bad it is.
2. If you knew how hard it would be that would spoil the fun!
Um, well, since you asked...When Paige is 3 years old you may want to jump off a cliff at certain times. Tantrums = not fun. And, when you add baby #2 to the mix = not fun. You asked. I won't go into details, because well, if I say too much you'll never have another child. :) jk!
So, I have to say that I love the poo story!! We have one like that too!! Jack exploded all over Clay in the middle of the night...poo was everywhere....Clay, windows, wall, floor. Good times! Good times!
You guys are doing awesome!! And, have I mentioned how much I LOVE these blogs!!!! Thank you B for updating! And, tell Erin she has complete understanding in not calling her friends....I didn't want to talk to anyone for like a month after C was born. We understand!!
I can't believe that you already have a poo story! Of all the places it could have happened that is probably one of the "best" places! Ha. Glad we know what one of the traits Paige got from you is now!! Hehehe.
You are both doing an awesome job! You just invited someone you hardly know to stay at your house indefinately and she keeps screaming at you and occasionally having diaper explosions. It's a bit of an adjustment . . . but totally worth it! And we can't tell you what it's going to be like before the baby comes because we forget. Or it's because we don't want to ruin the "surprise" - you remember the Chrysalis rules. Hang in there. The 4th trimester theory (Happiest Baby . . .) wasn't all bunk, but it gets better EVERY day. Give hugs to that gorgeous girl from use.
Hey, I totally warned Erin! But it does get better...exactly when, I can't predict! Erin, call me anytime about anything! Especially breast feeding. I had a really hard time with Mark at first, so I understand! Get some rest!
