Home Sweet Home

I am back in Washington again and I can only describe it as....you guessed it, bittersweet.
I had a great week, spending time with my family and squeezing in visits with a few friends.

My intentions for my time at home in Abilene were to plant myself firmly
in a lawn chair by my parent's pool and catch up on 7 months of Vitamin D intake.

However, the first two days were chilly and rainy! No sun to be found!
So here is the pool, sans me, with raindrops and cloudy skies....
So sad...

As soon as I stepped out of the car at my parent's house, I got bit by a mosquito...
By the end of the trip I had collected about 6 more as souvenirs...

And on Tuesday, the sun had finally come out, and I was in the pool when I got
stung by a bee! I have never been stung by a bee before
and I was surprised how much it hurt...
I brought the thing inside so we could figure out what it was...
here he is...

By Wednesday night, the spot where he bit me had gotten a big red welp and was itching like crazy.
By Thursday night, the welp had gotten fiery red and hot...

But no worries, my friend Debbie knew just what to do...
She got out the alcohol and tweezers and performed a little surgery on my arm, removing a tiny bit of stinger still left in.
Finally today it is looking and feeling so much better!

Thanks, Deb, I mean seriously how lame would it be to die of an infected bee sting??

Before I headed to the airport I got to see a few friends that I used to work with...
Tiffany, Kate and her daughter Charlotte...
Who took a perfect pic the first time
but the second time got curious about her mom's nose...
This cracks me up...

And here is Deb....dear friend, neighbor, surgeon....

The rest of my pictures are on my new camera and....
I have yet to figure out how to transfer them to the computer....
but someday soon I will!

I loved every minute of my Texas visit....
