Celebrate like a local

It's been a long work week for both of us so it was a unanimous decision last night to head to the Brix wine bar for dinner and a little relaxation...

Well...turns out that it is Washington Wine Month!
And so, in a selfless act to support the local economy, we bought a bottle of wine from a local winery. This wine bar is in the shopping center below our complex so our mode of travel was on foot so...no excuse not to drink the whole bottle....

We both ordered a BBQ pulled pork sandwich...kind of a random choice for a chic wine bar experience but it just sounded good....
Well, it turns out that while Washington does alot of things really well....
BBQ is not one of them....

Just this week, two different people asked me if I missed barbecue....
I miss alot of things about Texas but so far BBQ isn't one of them...
Someone else mentioned all the armadillos in Texas...
So apparently the people up here think all we do is sit around eat BBQ and armadillo watch....

So good of you to already be supporting the Seattle economy! That was one sad looking BBQ sandwich...what a bummer.
