We didn't have any plans for Easter Sunday so we decided to head over to Snoqualmie Pass for some Sunday skiing....
The ski resort is only an hour east of Kirkland but it is amazing how much the weather changes during that drive....we left home under cloudy skies and it was snowing hard when we arrived at Snoqualmie.
Riding up the lift was like entering a cloud because the fog was so thick you couldn't even see the skiers below you by the time you reached the top.
And as you looked up the mountain you couldn't see where the lift ended....
And it was coold!!
Since it was a holiday the slopes were really quiet....not too many people.
But lots of kids...
I just love kids in general but there is something about little kids in ski garb with their tiny skis and little helmets that is just adorable!!
I call them the little kamikazes because they just point their skis downhill and go with no fear whatsoever....and it's in your best interest to get the heck out of their way!!
My parents tell stories about me doing the same thing....in my hot pink ski outfit and no poles, I liked to head straight down the hill full speed ahead!
After a couple hours we headed inside for some lunch and to warm up....
And we made a new friend (one of the adorable little kamikazes!)
As we were finishing up our lunch a man came over and asked if his daughter could sit with us while he took his son into the men's room....
She was so cute!!
I insist that her dad saw something in Brian and I that told him we were trustworthy good people and safe to leave his daughter with....
But Brian insists....in this weather and in these ski boots he knew nobody was going anywhere fast with his kid!

It snowed for awhile, then the snow turned to sleet and then it just rained!
So after a few more hours we were dripping wet and cold so we called it a day and headed home....
My poor car!!
Usually a new car gets at least a few months of pampering....
Getting parked far away from other cars and driven very carefully...
My car has not had those luxuries...parking is so tight around here that it is rarely an option to park it far away from other cars and instead it usually gets wedged into "compact" spots...
And then we loaded our skis on the Pilot and made it trudge through snow and ice...it's so dirty right now!
I would wash it but...why bother?
It rains everyday!

Gosh, it was snowy, visibility was really poor, it was a wonder you didnt ski into anyone.
Only Erin would make friends with a total stranger child and be asked to watch her. Erin must have a trustworthy face or maybe its Brian.
