If this move represents stepping out of my comfort zone then I'd say I'm way out on the ledge right now....I have pictures and videos that I want to load but for now I'll just tell you what's been going on....
We finally got a hotel with internet access!!
We made it to Willcox, Arizona last night which was further than we had expected to get. We had great weather and listening to a Dean Koontz book on CD made the time fly by. We chose what appeared to be a decent hotel but actually turned out to be a shady Best Western right off the interstate. I had picked out the book we were listening, thinking a good mystery would pass the time but it turned out to be way more scary than I had expected and spooky and gory....so by the time we rolled into this lovely Best Western I was freaked out....
But we got a good night's sleep and woke up to find that not only was our car still outside but the rims were still on!!! Sweet!!
We got on the road and made it to Phoenix in excellent time. We took a break and walked around Ikea to stretch our legs...first of all, I had never been in one and was amazed at how big that place is, they have everything! We scoped out a few good things for our apartment and got a good break from the car.
But for some reason, our Ikea shopping trip made me really sad....
it made me really miss our house and all the shoulda-woulda-coulda projects that we just never got around to.....
Poor Brian...he has had to deal with more crying and emotional breakdowns in the past month than in our prior three and a half years of marriage...
But the crying eventually ended and we resumed on our merry way....
All was well, and we were right on schedule to get into Los Angeles before dark when we got a call from our mover John to say that the weather had cleared and he would deliver our stuff Wednesday morning.....
Huh???
He had called on Friday to say that he was stuck in Wyoming, the road were closed and he probably would be 2-3 days late in delivering our stuff, now he was calling to say not only was he back on track but he would be early.....
We are at least 17 hours away from Seattle and there just isn't any way that we will be there by Wednesday morning....we're going to modify our plan and put in a really long day tomorrow and hope to arrive Wednesday evening and hope that we can work something out with John....
So our good day ended in stress and scrambling to revise the plan....
But...on the bright side, we chose a much better hotel tonight!!
And we got to hang out with the legendary William the Kidd (aka Chris Niedzwiecki).
We haven't seen him in about 2 years since he moved out here to LA, so it was great to see him....don't worry some sweet pics will follow soon.
We had a quick dinner and he gave us a brief driving tour of the area....
He lives in west Hollywood so I had my eyes glued for some celebrities...but alas, no celebrities but lots of interesting people watching.
It was good to see an old friend. At the end of a long day in unfamiliar territory, a familiar face made our day...
